WELCOME TO KIMPTON MIDDLE SCHOOL
Dear Kimpton Families~
I am not sure if it is because we started the school year earlier than normal, if it is because this is my second year as principal at Kimpton, or if it just because time flies as you get older, but this first quarter has certainly flown by! Students and staff have been busy during the first 9 weeks. We have cheered on sports teams on the sidelines and at an energy-filled pep assembly (where team 8-2 won the coveted Spirit Stick), taken field trips to the Seiberling Nature Realm, recognized our first students of the month with a pizza lunch, sent 8th grade student ambassadors to a leadership conference at North Royalton Middle School, held our first TBT (teacher based team) meetings, parent-teacher conferences, PTSA meetings, building tours, and we have welcomed new staff and students. It has been a great start!
As the first quarter of the year ends, I want to remind parents that report cards are no longer sent home in paper form, but that they can be accessed through Progress Book. Should you need assistance with this, please contact our school counselors, Mr. Griffin or Mrs. Angely. I also want to remind parents to go to our web site in order to update all student forms through the Parent Portal. Should you need assistance with this, please contact Mrs. Piland, our front office secretary. We have a computer set up in the front office, and she would be happy to walk you through the process. Please help us keep all of this information updated—thank you!
I also want to remind parents that our second night of parent-teacher conferences is scheduled for Monday, November 7th from 3:00-7:40. Please contact your child’s team teachers to set up a conference time. Teachers are also available from 7:15-7:40 each day, should that conference day not be convenient for your family.
Remember, there is no school on Tuesday, November 8th. This is election day and a professional development day for our teachers and staff. Also, there is no school on Wednesday, November 23rd through Friday, November 25th in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Thank you!
Please feel free to contact me any time with questions or concerns, and thank you for your continued support!
Mrs. Palchesko, Principal
