My wife Lisa and I have lived in Stow for 16 years after a brief stay in Cuyahoga Falls. We have two children, Emily, who is a 2015 Graduate of Stow-Munroe Falls High School, and Sarah, who is currently a sophomore at Stow-Munroe Falls High School.

I am excited to begin my first term on the Board and I look forward to working cohesively with the other Board members as we look to put our students first and continue the proud tradition of Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools.

My service to the community reaches beyond the school district as I currently serve as a member and past chairman of the City of Stow Commission on Disabilities, treasurer of Stow CNP, Stow Band Parents Association and Stow-Munroe Falls Athletic Boosters. I have also previously served as an officer for Cuyahoga Falls Lodge #735 Free and Accepted Masons, Tadmor Shrine and chairman for the Relay for Life of Cuyahoga Falls.

I am employed with PNC Bank in Brecksville, Ohio, where I am Senior Advisor for Business Continuity and Critical Event Management and an Officer of the bank.

My education includes BA in Political Science and BA in Comprehensive Social Studies as well as maintaining a State of Ohio Teaching License for grades 7-12 from Heidelberg University and an MBA with a focus in E-Business from the University of Phoenix.

My wife Krista and I moved to Stow in 2004. The excellent reputation of the Stow-Munroe Falls City School District was the primary factor in our decision to reside in Stow. Twelve years and two children later (Jacob and Alaina), we are happy with our decision. I am honored and excited to be part of the leadership team that will continue to move our district forward.

I am employed as a Professor of Criminal Justice Studies at the University of Akron. I have held several leadership roles in my nearly twenty years of experience in higher education, currently serving as the coordinator for my program and associate director of an academic center. I have received three awards for excellent teaching including the top award for my college. In addition, I am a consultant for policing agencies on topics including crime prevention and homeland security.

Before my election to the Board, I served on the Stow-Munroe Falls Schools Safety Task Force and the Stow Public Safety Services Commission.

I hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Criminal Justice and a Doctorate in Political Science with a concentration in Public Policy. In 2015, I earned a Master’s Certificate in Critical Infrastructure Protection.

Twelve years ago I sought the best educational opportunities possible for my children. Today, I look forward to making decisions that will expand educational opportunities for all children in our district.

My husband, Don, and I have lived in Stow since May of 1969, happily raising our three children here. I am proud to say that all three of them are graduates of our school system and are doing well in their professions. I am a former employee of the Stow-Munroe Falls district, serving in our district for 34 years with my last assignment as Central Kitchen food manager at the high school. Upon retirement I took a deeper interest as a taxpayer in our schools and decided to run for the school board.

I will continue to question and reasearch issues, voting for what seems best for the students, staff, and community. Integrity and responsibility are very important to me and I will continue to bring these qualities forward in my term as a BOE member.

My wife Lisa and I have lived in Stow for seven years and have five school-age children attending public school. I am a practicing attorney licensed in three states.

I’m a 1996 graduate of Girard City Schools. I graduated with a BA in Political Science from the University of Mount Union in 2000 and the Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2003.

I spent my formative years in the band, learning to play multiple musical instruments. I helped edit and fund-raise for my school yearbook. I played varsity baseball. My college scholarships came largely because I was well-rounded, and not just because of my GPA or class rank. As a board member, I want Stow's kids to have an experience like I did, where they can participate in as many clubs, activities and sports as they can handle. Additionally, I want to make sure our students are being properly prepared for both college and careers upon graduation.

I look forward to assisting in the ongoing process of restoring transparency, credibility and professionalism to the management of our school system.
